Still Some Clouds, Breezy

We'll see another day of some clouds in the area. There is a slight chance of a coastal shower overnight and into Thursday morning. A cold front will arrive late Thursday and clear out most of the clouds for Friday and the weekend.

Highs Thursday should reach the upper 70s, with lows dropping to the mid to upper 50s Thursday night. Friday will be cooler, with highs in the low 70s. Expect highs in the low 70s over the weekend with lows in the mid to upper 40s.

Tropics:

Tropical Storm Noel will move north from Cuba tonight and Thursday and then turn northeast and accelerate out to sea Friday and Saturday. The expected track will keep the storm center off the south Florida coast, but some rain and gusty winds can be expected there as the system passes by. The worst of the heavy rain and strong wind gusts will be felt east of the center, over the central and northwest Bahamas.

Clouds Return, Staying Breezy

Clouds are moving back into the area and will be with us for Wednesday. It looks like there will only be a slight chance of a shower Wednesday and Wednesday night, so conditions should be okay for the trick-or-treaters. Highs Wednesday will reach the low to mid 70s. It will continue to be breezy as we remain between high pressure to the northeast and low pressure well to the south.

Expect a mix of clouds and some sun Thursday, with a cold front arriving late Thursday to push out most of any remaining clouds. Highs Thursday should reach the mid 70s. Seasonably cooler air will arrive behind the front for Friday into the weekend; highs will be mainly in the low 70s.

Tropics:

Tropical Storm Noel is meandering west over Cuba. In the next couple days, the system will get picked up by upper-level winds developing ahead of the cold front, and get pushed northeast and out to sea. Before then, some heavy downpours and gusty winds will affect portions of Cuba, the Bahamas, and southeast Florida.

A Nice Fall Day

For today, there will be a lot of sun in the morning with some clouds by the afternoon. The high will be in the lower 70’s. The breezy conditions along the coast will continue today. For tonight, we’ll have patchy clouds with lows in the mid 50’s. On Halloween there will be some sun in the morning then becoming mostly cloudy in the afternoon. The high for Wednesday will be near 74. The trick or treat forecast will be mostly cloudy with a slight chance for a shower. The low will be near 60. A cold front will pass through on Thursday clearing things up for the weekend.

Tropics:

Tropical storm Noel will continue moving west today then turn northwest by tomorrow. Most of the computer models show Noel turning north and missing the United States. In our area we will continue to see gusty winds from a high to the north and Noel moving through the Bahamas. Noel will become a non-tropical low by the weekend.

Onshore Breezes to Continue

Gusty breezes will continue out of the east-northeast through at least Thursday. Temperatures will top out near 70 on Tuesday with some sun, but clouds likely increasing again along the coast. It looks like it will be mostly cloudy Tuesday night and Wednesday, with highs Wednesday in the low 70s. There may be a couple showers on Wednesday. Thursday will offer a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid 70s, then look for skies to become mostly sunny by the weekend, along with pleasant days and seasonably chilly nights.

The gusty breezes will continue to cause high surf at the beach and Small Craft Advisory conditions out over the waters.

Tropics:

Tropical Storm Noel should move between west-northwest and northwest, roughly parallel to the coast of Cuba, affecting the Bahamas. Wednesday and Thursday the storm should turn to the north and northeast, ahead of a cold front, which will keep the effects of the storm well away from us. The storm may brush south Florida before heading out to sea to the northeast.

A Breezy Day

For today, there will be lots of clouds in the morning with some sun in the afternoon. The high will be in the upper 60’s. It will be breezy today with a strong high pressure north of the area. The high will create gusty northeast winds today. There is a possibility of shallow coastal flooding during times of high tide. For tonight, we’ll have patchy clouds with cool temperatures. The lows for tonight will be near 50. Tuesday through Friday there will be a mix of sun and clouds. A warming trend will start tomorrow with highs in the lower 70’s. By the middle of the week temperatures will be in the mid 70’s. Have a good week!

Tropics:

Tropical Storm Noel (Knoll) developed this weekend just south of Haiti. The storm brought flooding rain to Haiti over the past two days. The tropical storm has lost some strength this morning. The storm will move into Atlantic and move over the Bahamas on Tuesday into Wednesday. A cold front will move off the southeast coast by the end of the week. The front will push the tropical storm northeast by Thursday.

Mostly Dry This Weekend

Some spots will see some drizzle overnight, otherwise the rain has pulled out of the area. Drier air will work in from the west on Saturday, trying to bring some sun. The best chance to see sun will be inland areas, while the coast will be harder to clear, but hopefully will get to see some sun sometime in the afternoon. Highs Saturday will be mainly in the low 70s.

High pressure will build in from the northwest Sunday and Monday, resulting in a breezy northeast wind. Expect highs to reach the low 70s. The onshore flow will keep some clouds around heading into the new week. Also, the onshore wind combining with astronomical high tides due to the recent full moon could cause some beach erosion early next week.

A Wet Friday

We have received some rain this morning. The rain will stay with us through the afternoon. For today, there will be a good chance for showers. The high will be near 72-74. For tonight, we’ll have mostly cloudy skies with a chance for showers. The low will be near 62. Saturday there will be lots of clouds in the morning with a chance for a few showers. We may see the sun on Saturday afternoon. The high will be in the lower 70’s. Sunday there will be a mix of sun and clouds with a high of 72. A strong high-pressure system will build out of the northeast. We will have cool northeast winds on Monday. There will be a mix of sun and clouds with highs only near 70. Have a good weekend!

Wet on Friday

A front offshore will creep back to the west some overnight into Friday, allowing for rain to develop along the coast. Some rain could be heavy at times Friday along the coast, while some inland areas could see no rain. Temperatures will just reach the low 70s along the coast, with some mid to upper 70s inland. Drier air should move back in Friday night and Saturday, and some sun could come out Saturday as well. Highs should be in the mid 70s Saturday. Onshore breezes should result in mostly cloudy skies Sunday, and possibly a coastal shower by the end of the day. Highs Sunday should be in the low 70s.

Cooler Temperatures

A cold front passed through the area yesterday, which brought some cooler weather. For today, there will be lots of clouds in the morning then some sun in the afternoon. The afternoon high will be 72-75. For tonight, we’ll have cloudy skies with showers developing late. The low will drop down to near 60. Friday will be a wet day with a good chance for showers in the morning into early afternoon. The high will be in the lower 70’s. Saturday there will be a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid 70’s. The clouds will roll back into the area for Sunday. The high on Sunday will be cooler, near 72.

Cooler Air Pushes In

A complex weather pattern will keep occasional chances of rain in the forecast. After some wet weather Wednesday, we saw temperatures drop a few degrees and this cooler air will linger the next few days, especially with a fair amount of clouds around. Thursday looks dry, as the front that caused the rain pushes a little to our east. The amount of sun that we will see is questionable. A little sun should get our temperatures into the low to mid 70s. The front will creep back closer to us Thursday night, renewing some shower chances into Friday. Highs Friday should reach the low to mid 70s. Drier air should return for Saturday, with highs reaching the mid 70s under clouds and areas of sun. Onshore breezes will then increase moisture once again Sunday, with a chance of showers by the end of the day. Some wet weather looks likely for the beginning of the new week.

A Wet Day

For today, there will be more clouds than sun with a good chance for showers. The rain may be heavy at times, and there will be a chance for a thunderstorm. The high will be near 80. For tonight, we’ll have cloudy skies with a good chance for showers. The low will be in the mid 60’s. A front will stall out just off the coast. The front will allow for a chance of showers Thursday and Friday. I’m going with a rain free forecast for the weekend, but some of the computer models show showers along the coast for Saturday and Sunday. The high temperatures for the weekend will be in the mid 70’s.

Tuesday, October 23, 2007

Wet Weather Chances

A complex system will affect the east the next few days. A front will approach from the west Wednesday, bringing a good chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Temperatures should be a little lower than Tuesday due to increased cloud cover, topping out near 80 degrees. Shower chances will continue Wednesday night. Indications are some drier air may move in from the southwest on Thursday, cutting down on rain chances that day. We may see another chance of rain Friday. Highs should be a little lower Thursday and Friday, mainly in the mid to upper 70s. Lows should drop into the mid 60s.

A Warm Day

For today, there will be a mix of sun and clouds with very warm temperatures. The afternoon high will be in the mid 80’s. There also will be a slight chance for showers. For tonight, we’ll have mostly cloudy skies with a chance for showers. The low will drop down into the lower 70’s. Wednesday through Friday there will be cold front moving closer to the area, the front will stall out across the southeast. The front will bring a good chance for showers and storms. The rain may stay with us into Saturday.

Scattered Wet Weather This Week

We will see above average temperatures and humidity this week, with a storm system remaining nearly stationary in the Ark-La-Tex region. The best chance of rain will remain to our west, but we will be in a moist southerly flow, which will likely cause some scattered showers and t'showers to develop each day. Chances for rain look better on Wednesday than Tuesday, then a little lower at the end of the week.

Temperatures will reach the low to mid 80s the next couple days, then cool slightly to the upper 70s for the end of the week. Lows will be near 70 through Wednessday morning, then drop to the mid to upper 60s for the end of the week.

Lots of Clouds Today

For today, we’ll have more clouds than sun with scattered showers. The highs will be in the lower 80’s. For tonight, there will be mostly cloudy skies with lows near 70. Through much of the workweek there will be lots of clouds with scattered showers. The highs will be near 82-84. A cold front will pass through late Wednesday that should clear things up for the end of the week. The front will allow for temperatures to drop back down closer to seasonal averages.

Friday, October 19, 2007

Beautiful Weekend Ahead

Showers and thunderstorms did not affect the area on Friday as we originally thought. A front will move through overnight, ushering in lower humidity for the weekend. Daytime highs will still be warm, reaching the low to mid 80s. Nighttime lows will drop to the low 60s overnight and into the mid 50s for Sunday morning.

A Wet Friday

For today, there will be cloudy skies with rain likely in the afternoon. The rain may be heavy at times. There will be a chance for a thunderstorm in the afternoon/evening. The high will be in the lower 80’s. For tonight, we’ll have lots of clouds and showers in the evening then clearing skies late. The morning low will be in the lower 60’s. A cold front will push off the coast late tonight. Behind the front there will be a high-pressure system to build into the area for the weekend. The weekend will be very nice with lots of sun and afternoon temperatures will be in the lower/mid 80’s. Have a good weekend!

Thursday, October 18, 2007

Stormy Friday

Showers and some thunder will roll through the area overnight. A cold front will approach on Friday, producing a stronger round of showers and thunderstorms, most likely in the afternoon. Once this second batch of weather passes, drier air will move in for the weekend.

Highs on Friday will be in the low 80s, but could be higher or lower depending on the amount of sun that can break through the clouds in the morning. Lows Friday night will drop off into the low 60s as more pleasant air moves in. Highs over the weekend will be in the low to mid 80s under plenty of sun.

Wet Weather in the Forecast

The clouds and rain will roll into the area today. The best chance of rain today will be in the late afternoon. The high will be in the mid 80’s. For tonight, we’ll have lots of clouds with showers likely. The low will drop down into the lower 70’s. A cold front will move closer to the area on Friday. The front will allow for showers and storms. Some of the storms in the afternoon/evening may be strong. The high on Friday will be in the lower. 80’s. The cold front will move off the coast early Saturday morning taking the clouds and rain. The weekend will be very nice with sunny skies and mild temperatures.

Wednesday, October 17, 2007

Wet Weather On the Way

Southerly breezes will usher in more moisture on Thursday, likely resulting in some showers and a chance of thunderstorms by the afternoon. This first round of wet weather should taper off Thursday night, then an approaching cold front will bring a good chance of showers and thunderstorms Friday afternoon and evening. The second round of weather looks to have a better chance of producing strong storms. Highs the next couple days will be in the low to mid 80s, depending on the amount of sun that can peek through.

The weekend will be sunny and less humid behind the front that moves through Friday night. Highs will be in the mid 80s with nighttime lows dropping to the upper 50s Sunday morning.

Another Warm Day

We will have another warm day, but wet weather is on its way. For today, there will be a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid 80’s. For tonight, we’ll have mostly cloudy skies with lows in the lower 70’s. Thursday and Friday there will be more clouds than sun, with a good chance for rain. The highs will be 82-84. A cold front will pass through on Friday. The front will bring a chance for storms Friday afternoon/evening. The weekend will be sunny and warm.

Tuesday, October 16, 2007

Warmer and More Humid

Temperatures and humidity are on the increase across the area. Lows overnight will be in the mid to upper 60s and some fog is possible. Expect a mix of sun and clouds Wednesday, and it should be a couple degrees warmer, with highs in the mid 80s. Light breezes will turn more to the south on Thursday, offering a further increase in moisture, resulting in some showers and possibly a thundershower in the area. More clouds will be around, but highs should still make the low to mid 80s. A cold front will be approaching Friday, but it looks like it may start drying up ahead of the front, so I just see maybe a couple showers in the area, otherwise a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid 80s.

The weekend will be dry with warm daytime highs in the mid 80s. Lower humidity behind the above front will cause lows to drop into the upper 50s in some spots Saturday night. The next chance of wet weather looks to be sometime on Monday.

Monday, October 15, 2007

Warming Up Some

Temperatures are on the upswing following some rather cool nights we saw over the weekend. Higher humidity will keep lows mostly above 60 the rest of the week. Daytime highs will reach the low 80s Tuesday, then go into the mid 80s for Wednesday through Friday.

Sky cover will be a mix of sun and clouds. An isolated shower is possible over the next couple days due to a moist flow of air coming off the ocean. As a cold front approaches from the west late this week, look for a better chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm Thursday and Friday.

Wet Weather Lingers

While it was a lousy day across the area, the rain did not fall hard enough to cause any serious problems. Shower chances will continue Friday and Saturday while a moist flow continues out of the east. While downpours will be possible, widespread heavy rain is not expected. Skies will remain mostly cloudy. A little sun at times may boost the temperature into the low 80s the next couple days. Drier air is expected to push in on Sunday, and with more sun, temperatures should reach the mid 80s.

Tropics:

An area of disturbed weather near the Bahamas will move west-southwest through the weekend. Upper level winds are currently unfavorable for development. Some development may eventually occur near western Cuba or the Yucatan Peninsula by early next week.

Another Wet Day

* Flood Watch for Today * For today, we will continue to see the onshore flow that will allow for more rain today. The rain will be heavy at times in the afternoon. Some areas may receive 2-3” of rain. The afternoon high will be near 80. For tonight, we’ll have cloudy skies with scattered showers. The low will be in the lower 70’s. Some of the computer models show the low becoming a tropical storm by the first of next week. We will be watching this closely, but I don’t see this having an impact on our weather.

Wednesday, October 3, 2007

More Soaking Rains

High pressure to the north and the remnants of an old frontal boundary in the area are providing a very moist easterly flow of air. Moderate to heavy rains affected the area today, most widespread near the coast. Expect more rain to develop on Thursday, and some of it will likely be heavy again. This could result in localized flooding, so please exercise caution on the roads. Shower chances will continue Friday and Saturday, with drier air expected to move in Sunday and Monday. Temperatures will be held down by clouds and rain, with highs struggling to reach 80 on Thursday. A little more sun may peak through at times Friday and Saturday, allowing highs to reach the low to mid 80s.

Tropics:

Low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico will move northwest towards the Louisiana coast Thursday and Friday before dissipating.

Low pressure is expected to develop east of the Bahamas Thursday and begin tracking west. The system may become a tropical depression by the end of the week. Upper level steering flow should point this system between south Florida and Cuba and into the southern Gulf of Mexico over the weekend.

A Wet Wednesday

There will be on and off showers through the day. The rain may be heavy at times. Some areas will pick up over 1.00” of rain. The clouds will hold the temperatures down into the lower 80’s. For tonight, we’ll have cloudy skies with scattered showers. The low will be in the lower 70’s. The wet weather will continue for Thursday. The forecast for Thursday will be mostly cloudy with a good chance for rain, with highs in the lower 80’s. The models continue to show the wet weather for Friday and Saturday.

Tropics:

Tropical Development (92 L):

The models are showing that a tropical system will develop over the weekend in the Bahamas or near Cuba. The track of the low should be SW with time, taking the low into the southern Gulf of Mexico. There will be a strong high pressure to build to the north of the low; the high will drive the low to the west. As of right now, I don’t see this being a problem to our area.

Tuesday, October 2, 2007

Occasional Wet Weather

Onshore breezes will continue to bring in clouds and some showers from off the ocean. The breezes will become lighter than they have been, so high surf conditions will improve. Wednesday looks to feature more clouds than sun with a few showers. Highs will reach near 84. Scattered showers can be expected Wednesday night and Thursday, with a low near 70 and highs to near 86. Expect warm and humid conditions for Friday and the weekend with a bit of an onshore breeze continuing. A few showers are possible again Friday, with less chance over the weekend. Highs should reach at least the mid 80s.

Tropics:

Low pressure is moving west of south Florida and is projected to move northwest through the Gulf of Mexico reaching the central or western Gulf coast late this week. Some development into a depression or named storm is possible.

Showers in the Forecast

For today, the clouds will roll into the area. We continue to see the deep northeasterly flow. The northeast winds will allow for the possibility of coastal flooding during the time of high tide. There will be a chance of rain for the coastal areas this afternoon. The high will be in the mid 80’s. For tonight, we’ll have mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers. Wednesday there will be more clouds than sun with a good chance for showers. The afternoon high will be in the mid 80’s. Thursday will be mostly cloudy with a chance for showers. The high will be near 86.

Tropics:

Possible of tropical development (90 L):

There is a low pressure in south Florida this morning. The low will move west over the next few days. There is a chance that the low could become a tropical system late this week. The low will need to overcome strong upper level winds and a lot of dry air in the Gulf of Mexico.

Monday, October 1, 2007

Some Moisture to Increase

Breezes from the ocean the next couple days will gradually increase moisture levels, resulting in an increase in clouds and then some showers affecting the area. The best chance for showers looks to be Tuesday night and Wednesday. There will be a lingering chance of showers Thursday and possibly beyond as the humidity will return to near-summer levels. Highs Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the low to mid 80s. Lows will start having a hard time dropping below 70 beginning Tuesday night.

Tropics:

An area of disturbed weather in the Bahamas will move west into the Gulf of Mexico and some tropical development is possible. This system is currently projected to arrive on the central or western Gulf coast later in the week.

A Nice Fall Day

For today, there will be a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the lower 80’s. There is a coastal flood advisory and high surf advisory for today. The winds will be strong out of the northeast. Tonight, there will be partly cloudy skies with lows in the mid 60’s. The chances for showers will increase on Tuesday night into Wednesday. A coastal trough will develop that will allow for a better chance for showers along the coast. The afternoon highs for Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the mid 80’s.

Tropics:

A low pressure is off the east coast of Florida that will move into the Gulf of Mexico. The low has a chance to become a tropical system as the low drifts west.
