Tropics:

Tropical Depression #5: The tropical depression is looking much better this morning. The depression is located in the Gulf of Mexico and is moving WNW towards the Texas coast. The depression may be upgraded to a tropical storm (Erin) later today. Tropical Storm watch is up for the coast of Texas. The depression will bring heavy rain to Texas on Thursday.

Tropical Storm Dean: The tropical storm will become a hurricane by the end of the week. Most computer models show the storm becoming the first hurricane of the 2007 hurricane season on Friday. The models seem to be coming in line with a west track into the Caribbean Sea. On this track, the storm would have no impact on our weather in Georgia or South Carolina, which is good news. Here is the latest track from the National Hurricane Center: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at4+shtml/083540.shtml?5day?large#contents
