The Heat Coming Back

The heat will be returning across the area today. There will be lots of sun through the day with highs near 96, and heat index near 105. For tonight, mostly clear and mild, the morning lows will be near 74. The temperatures will warm back into the upper 90’s from Tuesday through Thursday. I don’t see great chances for rain during the week…maybe a shower or thunderstorm by the end of the week. Have a good Monday!

Tropics:

The tropics are becoming active. I’m sure we will have our 4th named storm (Dean) by the middle of this week. There are two areas that will need to be watched this week. First, in the NW Caribbean Sea there is an area of disorganized thunderstorm. The area doesn’t show signs of tropical development today. The 2nd area is the tropical wave that moved off the coast of Africa over the weekend. Looking at the visible/infrared satellite this morning, the tropical wave (90l) is becoming much better organized. I would not be surprised if the tropical wave becomes a tropical depression later today. Most of the computer models keep the tropical wave moving west over the next seven days.
