Wet Weather for the Weekend

There is a surface low-pressure system in the southeast. The low will not move much over the next few days. Also, there is a cold front that will move through on Saturday. The low and cold front will allow for unsettled weather over the holiday weekend. For today, more clouds than sun with showers and storms likely. The rain may be heavy at times. The afternoon high will be in the upper 80’s. Tonight’s forecast will be mild and muggy with scattered showers and storms. The low will be near 73. For Saturday and Sunday we’ll have lots of clouds with a good chance for showers and storms, mainly in the afternoon. The high temperatures for the weekend will be 86-88. For Labor Day, we’ll have mix of sun and clouds with scattered showers and storms. The afternoon high will be in the upper 80’s. So, there will be a good chance for showers/storms over the holiday. If you are making plans for outdoor activities the best time to get them in will be in the morning. Have a safe and happy holiday weekend!!

Tropics:

There are a few areas the hurricane center has been talking about the last few days. I think the only area that will have the best chance to develop will be the tropical wave (94l) that is just east of the Windward Islands. The wave is gaining thunderstorms around the center, and I would not be surprised to see the wave become a tropical depression today. If the wave develops it will continue on its westerly motion into the Caribbean. The models that develop the wave show it making a west track into the western Caribbean, and having no impact on the United States.
