Slight Relief Sunday

Saturday will be another day of excessive heat, with highs reaching the upper 90s and a few spots touching 100. The heat index will again be near 115 during the afternoon. A weak cold front will be approaching, and that may spark a thunderstorm late in the day. That front will try to move through Saturday night before it stalls and dissipates. Temperatures will be a few degrees lower Sunday, with highs near 94. There may be a thunderstorm in the area on Sunday, also. We will not get rid of the heat, as highs will again be near 94 on Monday, and indications are the temperature may push back up a little by Tuesday.

Tropics:
A system may develop near the Yucatan Peninsula and move west across the western Gulf of Mexico towards the Mexican coast next week. There is also a system moving off of Africa that could develop in the next few days as it moves west.

Have a good weekend!
