Rain Possible for Friday

Today will be much like Wednesday with a mix of sun and clouds, and isolated showers in the afternoon. Today’s high will be near 90. The models are not handling the track of the low that will develop in the Gulf today. So the forecast for Friday has the potential to change. For Friday, I will go with more clouds than sun with scattered showers and storms likely, mainly in the afternoon. Some of the rain may be heavy at times. With more clouds for Friday afternoon temperatures will be cooler, with highs in the upper 80’s. Saturday there will be a mix of sun and clouds with isolated showers and storms in the afternoon; highs will be in the lower 90’s. Sunday looks dry with a mix of sun and clouds and temperatures in the lower 90’s.

Tropics:

There are two areas that we will be watching over the next few days. The first area will be in the Gulf of Mexico. There is a stalled out front across Florida that stretches into the Gulf. I don’t see it getting strong as the low moves over land by late Friday and Saturday. The second area we are still watching is the tropical wave moving through the eastern Caribbean Sea. The thunderstorms look better on satellite this morning, but no change from yesterday. The system will be slow to develop. Most of the computer models don’t develop the tropical wave.
