The heat will continue for today and Saturday. Excessive heat warning in effect; the heat index will be near 115. Another hazy, hot, and humid day with afternoon high will be near 99. For tonight, much of the same with hazy skies and muggy conditions, low will be near 78. Saturday, will be hot with highs near 98, there is a chance for afternoon showers and storms. The storms that fire up may produce heavy rain. A cold front will try to push through on Sunday, but will have a hard time moving south of the area. The high for Sunday will be in the lower 90’s with a chance for storms in the afternoon.
Tropics:
The tropics have been free of tropical cyclones, but that may change. The computer models are showing a tropical system may develop off the African coast by the first of next week. The Future Trak weather center will be the first to let you know when a tropical depression forms. Have a good weekend!
