Very Hot for Wednesday

Temperatures will reach the upper 90s Wednesday and the heat index could go over 105 in the afternoon. So be careful and drink plenty of water if you're going to be outside! There is a slight chance of a thunderstorm moving south into the area Wednesday evening. Temperatures should ease down into the mid 90s Thursday and Friday. Onshore breezes should develop by Saturday, allowing highs to drop into the low 90s. This could also add enough moisture to result in a few scattered downpours.

Tropics:

Hurricane Dean has moved past the Yucatan Peninsula and is moving west and will make a second landfall in Mexico on Wednesday. The storm weakened to category 1 over land, and could go up to a category 2 before the second landfall. The system will then get torn up by the mountains in Mexico, but not before it dumps a lot of rain, including around Mexico City.

A disturbance east of the Bahamas continues to move west-northwest. It remains disorganized and upper level winds are unfavorable for development. It should bring an increased chance for downpours in Florida within a couple days.
