No Relief Through Friday

Very hot temperatures and high humidity will continue to make outdoor activities miserable and dangerous through the end of the week. Highs will be in the upper 90s through Friday, with the heat index possibly exceeding 110 each afternoon. Saturday's highs will be in the mid to upper 90s with a better chance of an afternoon thunderstorm, thanks to an approaching cold front. The front will slide to our south on Sunday, and highs should drop into the low 90s and the humidity will return to near average. So, it will still be hot, but better than now. In the meantime, try to avoid outdoor activities during the prime heat of the afternoon into the early evening.
