Hotter Temperatures Will Return

High temperatures only reached near 90 on Sunday, a break from the extreme heat we saw at the end of last week. It looks like temperatures will move up a few degrees Monday and Tuesday once again, though. Fortunately this time, the humidity should not be as high. Still, the heat index will likely reach to near 105 by Tuesday afternoon, and we can expect the above average heat to last throughout the week. Rain chances look minimal for the entire week.

Tropics:

The main feature that will be watched is a disturbance in the far eastern Atlantic. There is a good chance it will become a tropical storm (Dean) in the next 2 or 3 days. The system will continue to move west or west-northwest through the end of the week, likely moving into the Caribbean Sea this weekend.

There is a disturbance in the western Caribbean that will move across the Yucatan Peninsula and then head west towards mainland Mexico. Some development is possible with this system before it reaches mainland Mexico around the middle of the week.
