Excessive Heat Continues

The high at the Savannah airport today was 98, 2 degrees shy of tying a record. The humidity made it feel like it was around 110. Expect a repeat each day through Friday. Continue to use caution if outdoors, especially during the afternoons and early evenings. Drink plenty of water before and during any activities. There may be a brief pop-up downpour in your area, like we saw today. Otherwise, rain chances will remain limited through at least Thursday. Some relief can be expected this weekend. A cold front will approach on Saturday, which should be another very hot day. The front should cause a better chance of afternoon/evening thunderstorms Saturday, then highs should drop into the low 90s Sunday behind the front. Stay cool as much as possible!
